Shrewsbury Abbey in May

Our next major concert is on Saturday 19th May in Shrewsbury Abbey. The Chorale will be joined by the Shropshire Youth Orchestra and Mezzo-soprano Martha McClorinan to perform Karl Jenkins’ Stabat Mater. Other pieces in the programme will be the famous Miserere by Allegri and a selection of orchestral works, including Mussorgsky’s ‘Night on a Bare Mountain’, Prokofiev’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘The Last Spring’ by Grieg.

Tickets (£10 full/£7.50 concession) can be bought on the door, or in advance from The Box Office, 2 Christine Avenue, Wellington, TF1 2DX. (Cheque payment only, payable to ‘Mr R.S.Wysome’.)

Emma Johnson with New College Chorale

On Saturday 24 September 2011, the Chorale gave a very special concert with clarinettist Emma Johnson and Orchestra of the Severn.

A packed Shrewsbury Abbey enjoyed a sparkling evening and it was lovely to welcome Emma back to the county.
